I'm a new dad and I came to Carmen for advice on how to be a good one.

I do not have a good relationship with my dad, he was very aloof and busy when I was growing up and he always made me feel less than what I was. 

I did not want to make the same mistakes with my son.

What was truly incredible is not only did I come out with the knowledge and the tools to be a better dad, on the way she also helped me deal with that relationship I mentioned above with my dad.

So to put it simply, Carmen showed me how we as parents are the creators of our children and their futures.  She explained to me all about patterns, how they are a consolidation of experiences unified by a common thread.  How as we are beings that use past experience as a sort of road map on dealing with what is in front of us we usually don't even notice it.  How if we work on our patterns it ends up solving a lot of other stuff (that’s the part where she helped me with my relationship with my dad).

More importantly, when it comes to my son, I understood that all the little experiences which we usually don't even notice add up to create patterns that will dictate how my son will perceive the world around  him forever.  So with that knowledge, we built a plan of patterns that we want to develop for him.  Literally give him patterns that will help him be happy, content, well-adjusted, not afraid; healthy patterns.

That to me is gold and knowing that I am doing something proactive and positive for my kid's development as well as taking the burden of my fear off my shoulders is priceless and I would highly recommend everyone go listen learn and be happy.
